🧡 Who We Are
We are students. We are athletes. We are alumni. We are parents.
And we are tired of being ignored.
Coach Russ is more than a coach, he’s a Staples graduate, a special education teacher, and a mentor who has shaped lives on and off the field. For years, he’s shown up for us. When his job was on the line, we showed up for him — and we were silenced.
The administration blocked witnesses. They withheld evidence.
The Board of Education rubber-stamped a broken process.
This isn’t about soccer.
This is about justice, accountability, and the kind of leadership Westport deserves.
🧡 WHY THIS SHOULD MATTER TO YOU
What happened to Coach Russ is not just about one coach. It’s about a pattern.
This decision reflects a deeper problem in our schools, a culture where student and parent voices are repeatedly ignored, dismissed, or shut out. When students speak up about problems… they’re told to stay in their place. When parents ask questions… they’re met with silence or closed doors.
This isn’t just about soccer. It’s about what kind of community we are, and what kind of community we want to be.
If you've had a similar experience in Westport. where your concerns were overlooked or your voice didn’t matter — we want to hear from you. Share your story, anonymously or publicly. Together, we can push for real accountability and change.
